“Mapa Renovatsii found archival drawings by architect Nikolayev, researched the history of the building, and initiated the process of its listing on the landmarks register. Until now, we continue to defend the building in court.
Abandoned historical buildings, century-old ruins and small yet beautiful authentic houses, hidden from passers-by.
They are witnesses of the past, the embodiment of traditions and our architectural heritage.
Right now many of them are in danger. Unregulated development, inefficient heritage protection policy and russian aggression are the main reasons.
That's why we must promote preservation and protect Ukrainian architectural heritage in all its diversity.
We mustn't leave the next generation with less heritage than our ancestors saved for us.
We explore and document abandoned buildings, many of which are historical ones. We believe that open and well-organized data about these buildings will help to put them back into the vibrant life of our cities.
Our multidisciplinary team shares knowledge and hands-on experience with the public to promote sustainable urban transformations.
In addition to long-term methods of impact such as education and public discussion, we protect architectural heritage right now from immediate threat through legal support and applications for protective status.
Active urban residents are real change makers. We provide tools and support to local communities in their struggle for architectural heritage.
We share ideas of careful renovation, contextual design and preservation of our heritage. We design temporary architectural transformations of abandoned buildings trying to reintegrate them into the urban space and city life.
A movement for saving historical buildings exists due to the team's enthusiasm, our volunteers' energy and active locals' support. Join us!
